Yoga Santa Fe

Kate Japmeet Kaur

“Kundalini Yoga is the supreme technology to awaken your awareness and take you into your original Self. It is a natural unfolding of your own nature.” Yogi Bhajan

It was a search for this awareness that brought the practice of Kundalini Yoga to Kate Japmeet Kaur. Kate is a yogini, mother, wife, friend, small business owner, animal lover and a passionate advocate for yoga for addiction recovery.
Pure serendipity led Kate to her first Kundalini class and after the initial shock and newness of the chanting, the turbans, and the unique postures had dissipated, she found herself experiencing a natural high like none she had ever experienced. Kundalini yoga had given her a new and exhilarating freedom filled with love and expansion and helped her realize ‘there is something truly special with this funky form of yoga!’. Thus her love affair with Kundalini Yoga began and led her to her current place as a Level One Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) Leader and Space Holder. She is overflowing with gratitude to be in service to these sacred and transformational teachings.

Kate Japmeet Kaur instructs the following:
  • Community Kundalini Yoga
  • Each class includes breath work, physical postures, meditation, and a long relaxation accompanied by the sound of the gong. As with every Yoga Santa Fe class, all levels and abilities are welcome!

  • Kundalini Yoga for Addiction Recovery Support
  • >> Kundalini Yoga for Addiction Recovery Support, affectionately called "Natural High Happy Hour", is an experience designed for anyone challenged by addictive patterns or affected by those patterns in others. In this group we practice the transformational technology of Kundalini Yoga followed by a brief, 12 step meeting- style share circle to discuss our experience, strength and hope as it relates to our journey of recovery.
    >> The purpose of this gathering is to practice intentional yoga and meditation to feel healthy and happy, first and foremost, and to advance the spiritual quest that 12 step programs find essential to recovery. Examples of themes are (but not limited to) surrender, serenity, courage, humility, physical and emotional cleansing, and self-love. Every class includes breath work (pranayam) , physical postures (asanas), meditation, a long relaxation (shavaasana) accompanied by the sound of the gong, and a share circle.
    >> Students will have the opportunity to leave class with instructions to immediately begin an at-home practice, if desired. Please join us as we, together in community, connect with each other, our Higher Power, and our higher selves to experience a sense of authentic, exhilarating, and enduring serenity and liberation!
