LIVER AND GALLBLADDER FLUSH

The liver and gallbladder flush is an important agent which will help restore the normal functional capacity of these organs, especially in people suffering from chronic degenerative diseases (not recommended for patients under 25 years of age).

1. From Monday through Saturday noon, drink as much apple juice as your appetite will permit (at least 1 quart daily), in addition to any prescribed supplements or regular meals. The apple juice needs to be organic, unrefined and with no added sugar.
2. At noon on Saturday eat a normal lunch
3. Three hours after lunch take 2 teaspoons of Epsom salts dissolved in about 6 ounces of very warm pure water. The taste may be objectionable and may therefore be followed by a little citrus juice (freshly squeezed if possible).
4. Two hours later, repeat step 3.
5. For the evening meal, you may have a grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or other citrus fruit or juice.
6 At bedtime you have two choices: a. ½ cup of unrefined olive oil followed by a small glass of grapefruit juice OR b. ½ cup of warm unrefined olive oil blended thoroughly with ½ cup of lemon juice (unrefined olive oil only and fresh squeezed citrus juice)
7 Go immediately to bed and lie on your right side with the right knee pulled up close to the chest for 30 minutes.
8 The next morning, one hour before breakfast, take 2 teaspoons of Epsom salts in 6 ounces of warm pure water.
9 Continue your normal diet and any nutritional program that may have been prescribed. Some people report occasional slight to moderate nausea when taking the olive oil/ citrus juice. This nausea slowly disappears by the time you go to sleep. If you vomit the olive oil, repeat the week-long program, ending with the olive oil/citrus flush (only rarely does this occur).
This flushing of the liver and gallbladder stimulates and clears these organs.

KITCHEREE RECIPE

Mung Beans and Rice (Kitcheree):

1 cup mung beans
1 cup basmati rice
9 cups water
4-6 cups chopped assorted vegetables (carrots, celery, zucchine, broccoli, etc)
1/2 cup of olive oil or ghee
2 onions, chopped
1/3 cup minced ginger root
8-10 cloves garlic, minced
1 heaping teaspoon tumeric
1 heaping teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon pepper
1 heaping teaspoon crushed red chillies
1 tablespoon sweet basil
2 bay leaves
seeds of 5 cardamon pods
salt or tamari sauce to taste

Wash beans and rice. Bring water to boil. Add rice and beans and let boil over medium-high flame. Prepare vegetables. Add vegetables to cooking rice and beans. Heat oil or ghee in large frying pan. Add onions, ginger, and garlic and saute over medium-high flame until browning. Add curcuma (searchtumeric), black pepper, and chilli (no salt or herbs). When nicely well done, put this mixture into the cooking beans and rice. Add herbs. Stir well. Continue to cook until totally and completely well done, over a medium-high flame, stirring often. The consistency should be rich, thick and soup-like, with ingredients barely discernable.

This dish is pre-digested,and is excellent for the sick, the elderly, and young children (in these cases, make it less spicy).
