Asana is a Sanskrit word: आसन āsana “sitting down” (from आस् ās “to sit down”), a sitting posture, a meditation seat. Kundalini yogis see the heart as the portal to all 10 Bodies, the place from where all other the other Bodies need to receive confirmation to shine their light. Therefore the intention for asana is to provide a comfortable seat for the heart which then can support the full expression of your potential.
Each month represents a different numerological influence to help us integrate karmic patterns and re-align with Dharma. The posture we hold physically reflects the inner posture we hold about ourselves and how we ‘do’ life in general. Your physical body will let you know if you’re aligned with karma which causes friction, heat, pain or with dharma which allows for ease and flow. Dharma is not a belief system, it’s the eternal and inherent nature of reality, the cosmic law underlying right behavior and social order.
This 1st body reflects the harmony with the planet Mercury; The opportunity here is for you to hold a posture of creativity. Constipation is the number one physical symptom of imbalance in the first Body, a reminder that this is an opportunity for deeper alignment.
